Fast and Furious at the Lunenburg Wooden Boat Reunion July 25-27
The legendary skills of Lunenburg shipwrights will be put to the test during the town’s 4th annual Wooden Boat Reunion when teams will be given four hours and a matching collection of materials to build a boat in the all-new Fast and Furious competition. A race of the completed craft is sure to be a highlight of the two-day festival, taking place July 25-27 at the historic port and UNESCO World Heritage Site, as festival-goers watch to see which builder sails away with the title, or simply which boats float! “It should be a
really fun event, not only for participants but certainly for spectators,” says festival chair Maggie Ostler. Tentatively slated for Sunday, the competition is open to all boat builders – professional and amateur. All materials will be provided. http://lunenburgwoodenboatreunion.com
